34 Production Bases Across China
Chaoda's regional strategy is aimed at ensuring a stable market supply throughout the year. To achieve this goal, in identifying farms or production bases, Chaoda examines the quality of soil, and water sources as well as considering geographical location. It looks for geographic regions that complement existing farms or can provide off-season production of vegetables and fruits. Chaoda's farms span the nation, across a range of climate zones and different altitudes. One result of geographic dispersion is risk mitigation against natural disaster.

Distribution efficiency
We are able to skip many layers of middlemen and work directly with urban wholesalers and exporters by virtue of our large scale and cold chain food logistics management. These two factors make it possible to reduce transportation costs and wastage, improve distribution efficiency and maximize prices. In addition, Chaoda's sales team gathers market information, including prices and the demand and supply condition of the market, that helps us develop cultivation plans, allocate vegetables to the appropriate market and maximize the selling price. The overseas market is important to Chaoda as well. Some 30% of Chaoda's vegetables are exported overseas, well above the national average.

Strengths in research and development
Chaoda invests in research and development. The Group has a technology research center in Fuzhou, with advanced scientific instruments and fully automatic "intelligent" greenhouses. It is used to develop new species and test their growth patterns in different environments. At each farm, Chaoda sets aside a small plot that is used to develop improved cultivation techniques, pest control methods and hybridization. Some of Chaoda's technology team remain at individual farms for months and years to study and monitor the growth cycle and ensure that the produce is of high quality and not contaminated. Chaoda also has long-term working relationships with agricultural universities and scientific institutes, with joint projects to develop new species and discover new ways to increase productivity and improve quality of produce.
